Throughout the course, students will engage in in-depth discussions on the benefits of AAT for specific conditions such as autism, ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. They will learn how to conduct thorough needs assessments, select and train suitable therapy animals, and develop comprehensive AAT programs that address the unique needs of their clients. The course also emphasizes the importance of ethical considerations, including the welfare and humane treatment of therapy animals, client safety, and informed consent.
